Almuñécar, Alpujarras, Málaga, Nerja, Gibraltar and Granada or Sierra Nevada
Day 1: COSTA BLANCA – ALMUÑÉCAR
Early morning departure towards Almuñecar, stops on route . Arrival . Free time. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: ALMUÑÉCAR – ALPUJARRAS – ALMUÑÉCAR
Breakfast and panoramic visit of Almuñecar with its endless beaches from where we can admire the castle of San Miguel, which is of Arabic origin. Continuing on to the mountainous region of Las Alpujarras with its beautiful scenery and Pueblos Blancos (white villages) such as Lanjarón, (famous for its water) Orvija, Buvion, Pampaneira etc. The area is made up of numerous valleys and rivers that descend from the Sierra Nevada to the coast. Return to Almuñecar, dinner and accommodation.
Day 3: ALMUÑÉCAR – MÁLAGA – NERJA – ALMUÑÉCAR
Breakfast and departure towards Malaga, crossing the Costa Tropical, so called due to its tropical climate and plantations. Arrival at Malaga and panoramic sightseeing tour of the city with the Gibralfaro Castle. Free time to visit the old city with its Cathedral, the Arab castle of La Alcazaba and gardens which is currently the headquarters of the archaeological museum, the Picasso museum and Carmen Thyssen museum. Afternoon return to Almuñecar, visiting en route Nerja with its typical narrow Andalucian streets and ending at the Balcon de Europa with the beautiful views of the bay. Return to Almuñecar, dinner and accommodation.
Day 4: ALMUÑÉCAR
Breakfast and free day in Almuñecar, dinner and accommodation.
Day 5: ALMUÑÉCAR – GIBRALTAR – ALMUÑÉCAR
Breakfast and day-trip to Gibraltar (passport required), passing by Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona, etc. After crossing the border, free time for shopping in Main Street. Possibility of an optional tour of the Rock, Punto de Europa, etc. Return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 6: ALMUÑÉCAR – COSTA BLANCA
Breakfast and either Option A Visit the Alhambra palace, Option B Excursion to Sierra Nevada:
OPTION A / GRANADA
Free time in Granada or transfer either by coach or on foot depending on the location of the hotel, to visit The Alhambra palace (entrances and guides not included). The Alhambra so called due to its reddish walls («qa’lat al-Hamra’», Red Castle), is located to the west of Granada, on the top of the Al-Sabika hill, on the left bank of the Darro river and in front of the Albayzin and Alcazaba quarters. Declared a world heritage site by UNESCO, today it is the most visited monument in Spain with its Nazari Palaces, Patio of the Lions, Carlos V Palace and Gardens of the Generalife.
OPTION B / SIERRA NEVADA
Breakfast and half day excursion to the natural park and biosphere reserve of Sierra Nevada (weather permitting), admiring en route the beautiful scenery. The mountainous range of Sierra Nevada is situated between the provinces of Granada and Almeria and is famous for it’s winter ski resort which has the highest peak on the Iberian peninsula El Mulhacen some 3.482mts high.
Departure towards Costa Blanca, passing en route Granada and Guadix. Arrival at the Costa Blanca and end of our services.
